3. B.5. The faculty and students contribute to scholarship, creative work, and the discovery of knowledge to the extent appropriate to their programs and the institution.

A survey designed by a Miller College Criterion Three committee member and a Miller College alumna, collected information from faculty and staff about staff development at the College (See Faculty and Staff Professional Development Survey). Staff development was defined as publication, presentations at conferences, as well as faculty and staff engaging forums and activities to keep current in their disciplines: workshops, state and national conferences, webinars, etc. The survey reports faculty contributions to scholarship, creative work and the discovery of knowledge. Student contributions in these areas are most accurately defined by their performance assessments and products produced for each course.
