3. D.1.  The institution provides student support services suited to the needs of its student populations.

Miller College offers support services to students in admissions advising, faculty advising, financial aid and student services (See Student Handbook, pp. 4-6). Areas of support address the degree of student need; that is, some students can navigate on-line registration and other services more easily than others, and avenues of one-on-one assistance are readily available. The following are areas supporting student need:

Business Office

The Business Office for Miller College is located in the Student Services Office in Room 205 of the Mawby Center. The office prepares invoices and student bills, coordinates payment plans and refunds, and handles accounts payable and receivable for the College.

Career and Employment Services

The Career Services Center (CSC) provides free career and job search services for all Miller College students and alumni.

Student Services

The Student Services Office offers assistance to students with bill payment, developing a course scheduling, financial aid assistance, password resets, reviewing program plans, change information, offer scholarship information, picture ids and assisting by setting appointments for the Financial Aid Director, Admissions Advisors and Registrar. The Student Services Office also offers information concerning resources within the community, i.e. Counseling Services.

Counseling Services

Miller College students are provided access to a free counseling service. A counselor (Dr. Sheila Matthews) is located on campus once per month and students may either meet with her during this time or schedule an appointment to meet with her in their office on an alternate date. The sessions are completely confidential, which allows students to discuss any issues with the counselor in a private setting.
