Miller College Admissions Advisors recommend that all new students take LBAR 300 Junior Seminar as one of the first classes they take at Miller College. Prior to admission to Miller College a student must have an associate’s degree or 30 semester hours of college-level credit with a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 GPA scale. LBAR-300 Junior Seminar has a prerequisite of a Freshman Composition class with a grade of “C” or better. Some programs do require a higher grade point average for admission. The School of Education requires a 2.75 GPA and the School of Nursing requires a 2.5 GPA on a scale from the school where the RN program was completed.

In addition, personal one-on-one advising takes place through conferences with a faculty advisor where each student is in conversation about their own perceptions of preparation in relation to a predicted schedule of courses. Advisor conferences are a requirement of LBAR 300: Junior Seminar. Each student must submit a program plan signed by the faculty advisor as evidence this conference has taken place.
