To begin the self-study process, the following sets of questions became front and center to each committees focus:

1. Within the College/your program/department at Miller College, what significant changes have occurred since the last team visit in 2007-08?

2. How do the activities and programs within your area of Miller College link to Miller’s Mission? 

3. How does your program/department at Miller College evaluate how well it is doing?  If major changes occurred to the programs, services, or physical/personnel resources within the division, what instigated the change and what was the process for making such changes?

4. Within your program/department at Miller College, what opportunities are available for professional development and/or the pursuit of intellectual inquiry?  Are those opportunities valuable?  How does Miller College support these opportunities?

5. Who does your program/department identify as its important constituencies and how do you respond to the needs of these groups?  How do you know that the constituencies value the services that your unit/program/department provides?

    • Local agencies that rely on Miller College for student volunteers, interns 
    • Employees that rely on Miller College for graduates or
    • Professional organizations that utilize the skills or experiences of members of your unit/program/department.

What academic focus   area(s) do we currently use to measure General Education Assessment? Is the   MAPP Test giving sufficient data? What other measures are you considering?

-MAPP Test (Critical   Thinking, Reading, Writing, Mathematics)
