4C.3 Processes and methodologies for collecting and analyzing information on student retention, persistence, and completion of programs reflect good practice.
Miller College collects student data by semester through the Registrar’s office in Student Services. The College collects and tracks data on a consistent basis throughout all terms. The Registrar provides census data and creates reports based on this data that is analyzed by the Enrollment Management and Retention Committee. This committee has representation from every department on campus. Plans of action are discussed if appropriate, and recommendations are made to the President’s Council, if needed.
Through the Registrar’s office the College does report information to the Department of Education through The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). The College will be using IPEDS data and information as a reference point for future goal setting and Strategic Planning.
Student persistence, completion and achievement data in the School of Education is reported to the Michigan Department of Education and the United States Department of Education through annual Teacher Preparation Institution Report Card and Title II reporting processes.
