The institution’s mission is clear and articulated publicly; it guides the institution’s operations.
Introduction
In order to attract new businesses and sustain economic stability, Battle Creek Michigan needs an educated workforce. The Robert B. Miller College (Miller College) was established in order to fill this community need. The founders and the original staff of the College developed the Mission Statement. Legal counsel reviewed the language to assure compliance with state and federal laws (Self Study for Initial Accreditation). Faculty, staff, and the Board of Trustees of the College regularly review documents, including the policy manual, faculty handbook, student handbook, catalog, and strategic plan as part of the governance process. These documents as well as the College website state the Mission:
The Robert B. Miller College is a private, independent, nonprofit, degree-granting institution offering quality education. The College meets the educational needs of a diverse student population by allowing them to complete their educational programs in a variety of learning formats.
