Challenge VI: Assessment
Response:
The current assessment plan is based on the mission of Miller College and Program of Study. “The mission is to graduate students who exhibit a high level of competence in their area of study and demonstrate service to the community. The College values student learning, critical thinking, oral and written communication skills, and an understanding of a globally-oriented world.” Since Miller College is committed to producing graduates with a solid educational foundation, assessment instruments are valuable and give an indication of the overall experience of attending and learning at Miller College. Assessment Plans are available for:
General Education Assessment, Assessment Status Report for each School: The School of Education, The School of Business, The School of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Nursing. An example of a final assessment for the Binda School of Education:

Evidence:
Miller College, in support of the College Mission, has core values that are embedded in the Miller College Core Requirements. Program Advisory Committees assist the College in identifying trends and changes to assure that graduates are qualified and can contribute to the society in which they live and work. Service Learning is a requirement of each School of the College; reflections of the value of those experiences are included in the Senior Seminars and the final Portfolio.
Each School of the College has established Learning Outcomes that have been approved by the faculty, Program Advisory Committees, and broadly by the Miller College Board of Trustees. Other assessment reports include:
