When Bob Miller Sr. saw something in his community that needed doing, he did it.
Following his lead, the Board of the Miller Foundation, established by Robert B. Miller Sr. to honor his parents, paid attention when a community survey showed a need for the Battle Creek area to have a bachelor’s degree program. The Robert B. Miller College was launched in summer of 2005, for the first time providing a local college working to respond directly to community needs.
In concert with the Guido and Elizabeth Binda Foundation the Miller Foundation moved to establish the college whose mission is to graduate students who exhibit a high level of competence in their area of study and demonstrate service to the community through the values of student learning, critical thinking, oral and written communication skills, and an understanding of a globally-oriented world.
