Karen Knox - Editor-in-Chief

I was born and raised in Union City. I moved back 2 years ago with my husband Edward after having lived in both the Battle Creek and Grayling areas. I have three children: Robert, Amy and Makiya. Robert is currently living in southern Indiana with his wife Angela and their two children John and Sueanna. Amy is attending Central Michigan University in pursuit of a Bachelors Degree in Education. Makiya currently attends Union City Elementary. I received my Associates Degree /Applied Science-Paralegal Studies from Kellogg Community College. I am currently a student here at The Robert B. Miller College pursuing a Bachelors degree in Applied Science/General Studies. For relaxation I like to spend time with my family, outdoors or reading.

My goal for The Conifer is to make it a positive reflection and source of information for current and future students, staff, and the surrounding communities. The newsletter will be accessible to all via an online link through the college’s website and through emails to students and staff via email. By offering the newsletter online it keeps publishing costs down and eliminates paper waste thereby helping the environment and showing a positive step towards Going Green. I would like to invite everyone to submit articles, upcoming events, artwork or photographs of college or community events to me for publication in the newsletter. Please make sure to include your contact information on a separate piece of paper so that I can properly credit the work to you. To submit information you may leave it in my mailbox in the lobby by the information desk, or email it to me at: editor@millercollege.edu. Eventually my hope is to be able to expand the newsletter to an online newspaper offering a great deal more information than can be contained in a newsletter.
