WELCOME!

Miller College is honored to have the opportunity to reach out to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students in Calhoun County and ask their teachers to participate with them in the Miller College Children's Literature Project in March of 2010.

Miller College was founded on the idea of fulfilling a need within our community and we are grateful for our success - which could not have been achieved without the support of our local community. I would like to pay that service forward each year by providing young children in our county the opportunity to participate, develop, and learn from individuals living in and around Michigan who have realized their dreams and have the ability to have an everlasting effect on our local youth through their art and their stories.

The conference offered in 2010 will feature David Small and Sarah Stewart of Mendon, Michigan. David is a two time Caldecott Award Winner and to date has illustrated over 40 picture books. Sarah Stewart, David's wife and children's book author, has written five children's books and in 2007 she received the Michigan Author's Award, which recognizes an outstanding published body of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or play script.
