Victory Media, the premier media entity for military personnel transitioning into civilian life, has named Miller College to the coveted Military Friendly Schools list. The 2013 Military Friendly Schools list honors the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans, and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.

The Miller College Scholarship Committee and staff from Voces in Battle Creek have partnered to offer Voces members and affiliates a unique scholarship opportunity to assist with tuition and associated costs of attending Miller College to complete a bachelor’s degree.

Miller College will host the American Red Cross on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 12:00 to 5:45 p.m. at 450 North Avenue in Battle Creek for a blood drive.

The Miller College Scholarship Committee awarded $23,800 in scholarships to students for the 2012 fall semester.

Patti Staib, Executive Director of Charitable Union announced today that the annual winter coat distribution for children will take place at the Y Center, Multi Sports Building on the following dates:

• Friday, October 5th from 9:00am to 12:00pm
• Saturday, October 6th from 9:00am to 12:00pm
• Monday, October 8th thru Wednesday, October 10th from 11:00am to 4:00pm

Max Hardish, Miller College's Academic Tutor, has the following hours available for students: Monday: 4:00 - 9:00; Tuesday: 10:30 - 3:30; Wednesday: 10:30 - 3:30; Thursday: 4:00 - 9:00. Tutoring services are available in the first floor Resource Room, Career Services/Computer Room.

The Miller College Dean’s List for the Summer 2012 semester has been announced. The Dean’s List is includes the names of students who have attained a 3.75 - 4.00 semester GPA.

The Miller College Children’s Literature Project (CLP) is a writing and illustration contest offered to all 3^rd, 4^th, 5^th and 6^th graders in public, private and home school settings. Any district that is supported by the Calhoun Intermediate School District is invited to participate.

Fall classes begin at Miller College on Tuesday, September 4th and the College is preparing another “Back to School Bash” celebration for Thursday, September 6th. The event will take place in the lobby of the Battle Creek campus, 450 North Avenue, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The State Board of Education reviewed 2010-2011 Teacher Preparation Institution Performance Scores in their meeting on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, and Miller College’s Elizabeth H. Binda School of Education received an Exemplary rating with the third highest score in the state.

Miller College Board of Trustees named former Miller College President, Dr. Paul Ohm, President on Thursday, August 16^th, 2012 in a closed session board meeting held on the Battle Creek campus.

The Miller College Institute Summer II semester offers professional development courses to local educators at times convenient for working teachers. Classes begin July 9 and end August 28, 2012.

The Miller College Institute, the professional development branch of Miller College, is excited to announce that funds are still available to support local teachers who are interested in learning how to support children with autism in the classroom and our community.

The Miller College Institute is proud to announce the continuation of a scholarship and mini-grant program, generously funded by the Miller Foundation’s BCreative initiative, to support local teachers who are interested in integrating the arts into their instruction.

Miller College will be closed all Friday's beginning May 25th - August 10th. Normal summer business hours will be Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thank you!
